Best 11 inch Laptops

Best 11 inch Laptops – Reviews In 2023

As devices are miniaturizing and smartphones are getting slimmer and smaller with each passing day and on top of that, they are incredibly functional too, many people think that an 11-inch laptop would still be awesome with robust functionalities. Are you one of those? You may be wrong! Shocked, right?

Let us tell you that this is 2021, and still, most of the laptops out on the market with 11 inches still suck. Well, to be honest, an 11-inch laptop features a mobile processor to support the robust and power-intensive Windows 10 Home version. Absurd, right? They literally feel like you are in the 90s, functioning on Windows 95. Such laptops get so slow that you have to take out your cellphones to perform your tasks, be it surfing, researching, or typing a document.

You must be wondering the reason behind why such laptops could be this worse? Well, the reason is that manufacturers find it way expensive to incorporate a laptop with a powerful processor with sufficient RAM size that too into a small and tiny compartment without any compromise on free space, which is obviously required for the circuits to meltdown.

But, don’t you worry, as we have some good for those who are into 11-inch laptops; there are still some laptops that outperform the bad ones and are good to go ahead with regardless of the limitations they have.

At the moment, the market is brimming with a lot of 11-inch laptops, ranging from touchscreens, convertibles, ultrabooks, and chromebooks from each laptop producer, however, the chips they offer are obsolete, with manufacturing off 5 to 10 years ago.

So basically, you are required to get a piece of good knowledge and insight into the world of the laptop so you can have sufficient knowledge of what is going to be the best buy for you. But guess what? You are lucky because we have done the homework for you. We are going to present a list of 11 laptops to make sure you get your hands on the best deal.

If you belong to any country that does offer any of the laptop models listed below. To find them, you may type in the model of your suitable laptop in the search bar of the site you usually buy such things from. However, if you are still unable to find them, we have listed the buying guide for you at the end of the blog post, with loads of useful information for you to get yourself one great and awesome laptop.

Right now, we are pinpointing some of the bigger picture information; however, a detailed outlook will be at the end, so grab your favorite snacks and start reading, as this may be a little longer than expected.

Operating System & CPU

Let us tell you that the CPU or the operating system is the major influential factor when it comes to the factor of speed in a laptop. There are many 11 inch laptops out there on the market that does not even feature a robust processor that is fast enough to withstand the intense weight of the operating system; thus, as a result, they function even beyond the slowest settings. But here are a few core tips for you to look for: if you are looking forward to purchasing a full version of Windows 10, you would be needing the Intel Core m3/m5/Y processor. You do have the option to go for a Celeron or Pentium processor though; however, for the Windows 10S version, the latter processor choice should be fine to go. Also, Atom/ARM chips are also compatible but they would just slow down your system. The next is Chrome OS. For this, you have a myriad of options available, as anything would be okay with this.

RAM

For Windows 10 or Windows 10S, you should opt for a minimum of 4 GB; however, if you do want to purchase 2 GB, that should be fine for Windows 10S. In the case of ChromeBooks, 2 GB is okay; however, 4 GB would be a great option for your laptop, as you will be having a lot more space for your applications to enjoy.

Storage

Here is the advice for storage – avoid opting for Hard Disk Drives for your laptop at any cost. You must go for an SSD, which is quite a challenging task to find on the market, or you also have an option to get flash storage, which is a universal product. But hey you guys, do not worry about the capacity until or unless you are having plans to install a new operating system like Linux or even the full version of Windows 10. In the end, you always have the option to upgrade to an SSD; though they are quite an expensive option; however, if you are expecting an outstanding performance from your 11-inch laptop, it is always better to go for up-gradation.

Display

As far as display properties of an 11-inch laptop are concerned, let us tell you that you will be finding them with quite low-resolution properties, which is HD. The option of full HD will enable you to enjoy quite extra space regardless of the limited size of the screen; however, one major drawback is that they are expensive and rare. The second option you can consider is HD+ which is also a rare component.
Now that we had a very brief overview of components that should be fine with your 11-inch laptop, let us start with the best 11-inch laptops under 500, which we have tried a couple of months ago. What are we waiting for, let’s get into it!

MacBook Air

If you ask for the best 11-inch laptop, it will be the 11 inches MacBook Air by Apple. Though the model has been discontinued from the market a couple of years ago, you will surely find them at some platform selling them online; some of them you spot will be new, while some will be the refurbished ones. Cannot believe this? You may go and check it out on Amazon while having another window opened with the specs of the laptop once sold by the company.

Another exciting news for you all out there is that this MacBook Air that we are talking about is really not expensive but rather has good quality and looks brand new but at a cheaper price point. If you have got your hands on the refurbished ones, don’t you worry, as it will function like that of a brand new one. We have one that has been with us for like three years and it is currently as good as the new, running like a fast model the company just upgraded.

Before we dive deep into the capabilities of this laptop and what opportunities it potentially provides to its users, I am going to justify a little as to why this should be the number one choice when are you planning and shopping for 11 inches laptops.

Back in 2015, the 11-inch MacBook Air was the talk of the computer town because it was one of the best 11-inch laptops with a lightweight. Not only people who loved the MacBook because of Apple adore it, writers, but students and programmers also loved it too. Undoubtedly, it was among the lightest and thinnest laptops featuring a robust battery life that has never been on the market by any competitor or laptop manufacturer, and just by the way, it boasted the best keyboard as well.

However, unfortunately, Apple decided to launch the newer version by the name The New MacBook, which featured all the qualities its predecessor had; but it did not offer any ports; just comparatively looks and a retina display. Somehow, the company knew that the latest launch was just not up to the standards of its 11-inch laptop on the market, which was of course less expensive and comparative powerful. The company did however kept the 13 inch variant of the MacBook Air because the keyboard was still unbeatable by any player, and also, it had surged the sales for the company. Now, Apple is planning on launching off the MacBook with a retina display, so let’s wait and watch how things about it.

Anyhoo, customers did buy a lot of 11 inch MacBook Air back when they were popular and guess what, since the popularity of this laptop was all over the internet, you are still able to find it on several platforms.

Though there are many online dealers and sellers, we would recommend you to have it bought from Amazon, as you will have an opportunity to get hands-on a device with the best warranty.

If you are fortunate enough to have purchased a good model (because getting a bad one can occur sometimes however you can always get it replaced), it will be going to last for 8 years or so on average, so you would have sufficient time to resell it and get a new one.

Hardware

Now comes the hardware part, which we will be reviewing briefly. The MacBook Air is among the few laptops that are non-convertible, featuring an Intel Core processor with an authentic Solid State Drive. Thank god it does not feature Pentiums, Celerons, or Atoms chips. It offers robust Intel Core i5 processors; we agree that we have got so many advanced generations, but honestly speaking, they are the best and more powerful than any of the processors you would normally find on 11-inch laptops.

Though this one is a bit obsolete technology by Apple, it is more powerful and faster than any modern SSD storage. Why is that so? Because Apple has the patent to this technology; hence proprietary to the company. Therefore, the company made several modifications and made it faster than that SSD.

Performance

There is a lot of potential work you could do with the MacBook Air, interested to know? Keep reading.

You can have large spreadsheets with plugins installed, stream videos without any issues, perform programming, play intensive games, run Facebook and play music as well. A note to programmers here that if you are about to program on the laptop, you must have Python installed to avoid any compatibility issues while installing packages.

Design

You might get confused with what I am about to say now, but honestly speaking, the best part of the 11 inches MacBook Air by Apple is its design Why so? Because the laptop features USD ports and a mag-safe power cord which is not at all present in the new launches of MacBooks. Do they matter? Yes, particularly for those with kids because it serves as protection from your child tripping over the cord and destroy the laptop.

The next absolutely outstanding feature is its keyboard and track. Though an older version, the components are still the best because they are way better than we usually find on new laptops. The keys are undoubtedly very responsive. If you ask, this seems like a typewriter, but of course without any noise. As far as the trackpad is concerned, it is responsive as well as huge. But have you been a mouse user all your life and trackpads make you go errr? Don’t worry because we can vouch that you will love it.

Another great component the laptop offers is its battery life. Ready for the major reveal? It can withstand standby for a week!!! Moreover, the battery has the power to last up to 13 hours at the lowest brightness setting.

Ending with a note that do not worry about buying refurbished models because they do last long.

Have you been thinking to purchase a laptop so you must have probably researched about them from various platforms? If so, you must have come across some terms which are on the internet, such as “gorilla glass screen” or “military grade design.”

Design

Obviously,  no one has tested it by dropping military stuff, but guess what? This would probably withstand a drop from a two-storey building. How do we know? We have tested out this laptop, and it has withstood drops at our office. We have put it on the kitchen counter, on top of the refrigerator, and whatnot, but it has stayed with us without any scratches or dent. Why? Because it is born to withstand hard-wearing.

The design of the 11-inch laptop features a rubber sort of hard and robust material all around the edges, acting as a shield to protect it from top to bottom.

Another great thing is that it has an option for the screen to go back to 180 degrees; however, not to be used as a tablet, but to survive any hinge damage.

Hardware

Since it is a Chromebook, the featured RAM, processor and storage are undoubtedly weak for an 11-inch laptop, as we mentioned earlier, however, the good thing is that this device does not need as much power to run ChromeOS; they are quite light as an operating system and does not require any storage facility because everything is supposed to be stored on the cloud.

Another great thing is that Chrome is going to run way faster than any of the laptops out there because it has been introduced by Google and the laptop device by ASUS is also Google-optimized to run the function. In case you do not want to save things on the laptop or even install any application from the chrome store, you always have the option to get a micro SD card reader and transfer all stuff. This way you will have additional space for other things.

Performance

Do you like to stream videos or binge on Netflix? The good news is that it will run so smoothly; also, the web browsing function is great too. The laptop offers a 1080 p resolution for streaming. Also, you can open documents, large spreadsheets, and even Google Docs all at the same time.

And if you want this ASUS Chromebook to perform as well as the MacBook one, you should do what people in the 90s would do – install Linux.

Once you install Linux on the system,  you can potentially perform a lot of things, like getting access to thousands of third-party software with an option to go for customization. The best thing about this device is that it lets you have the hold of both the Chrome operating system and Linux, without even deleting anything.

Windows OS

You would find a lot of HP stream laptops on online platforms having either ATOM or CELERON chip, but you have already learned the advice – do not opt for ATOM chips if you have sufficient bucks to spend on advanced technology. Also, there are quite a lot of HP stream laptops out there with a Celeron chip and the full-blown version of Windows 10. Well oh well, that is no way a good combination to opt for. You should also try to avoid any Pentium or Celeron processors at all costs because operating Windows 10 on such processors is just painful and nothing else.

The model we are talking about here on this list features the Intel Celebron with a Windows 10 S version. To be quite honest, the combination is good to amp up your productivity levels.

 Hardware

Now comes the hardware part. You will get HP stream with ATOM chip or Intel Celeron/Pentium processor. If you decide to buy an ATOM chip one, make sure that the seller is offering you at a comparatively cheaper price point because if you are not getting it cheaper than the CELERON version, you are probably getting ripped off with more money.

The only issue that is apparent with this 11-inch laptop is the lack of RAM. But, it will function with adequate speed because it features Windows 10s.

If you are looking forward to purchasing a variant having 4GB, you might be charged extra. But well, in such a case, the best version to go with is a 2 GB one.

Performance

The laptops under the head of the HP stream feature either 32 or 64 GB of space. This is quite an adequate space if you want to save documents, run spreadsheets, and play music; however, this won’t be the case if it for games or video streaming purposes.

Programmers can also function on this laptop if they have any coding or programming tasks coming up. And you can also easily run Netflix and browse several windows at the same moment. One thing to take note of is that you should buy an SD card to transfer your files and make your device function even faster.

Design

One of the biggest issues I found with 11-inch laptops these days is that since manufacturers sell it for a cheaper price, they compromise on components in this case, which is just annoying altogether.

We have presented you here with some goods and bad about this laptop by HP. Some pros of the laptop are that it is lightweight hence, small. It is so light in weight that you can lift it by hand only. Also convenient enough to get fit into bags or briefcases. Secondly, appearance-wise, they are appealing with all that finish and colors. Moreover, it has a decent keyboard, and to be honest, it is just a great steal at only USD200.

Hopping on to cons of HP Stream would include the poor quality of speakers, which requires users to make use of their headphones. The integrated webcam features a very low quality because it is literally from 1995. Next is the touchpad because there are some functions that do not work so you would be needing a mouse for complete functionality.

There are quite a few Dell Inspiron laptops with 11-inch screens that boast a touchscreen feature with almost all of them have Windows 10S operating system.

Hardware

As far as the hardware is concerned, the Dell Inspiron 11 inch laptop features either AMD A9 or A6 chip, but the company offers no variant with Intel Pentium or Celeron. The laptop has a RAM of 2GB which could go to 8 GB, with a disk space of up to 1 TB.

The laptop device we are talking is among the cheapest but with a comparatively better processor and touchscreen feature. And it is a great deal, tbh.

 Performance

There is one major issue with the laptop which is its operating system; the laptop device features Windows 10, which could be the reason for lack of good performance delivery by the device.

Personally, if you ask, I would not recommend the laptop if you are looking forward to running a full version of Windows 10. Anyhow, you have the option to upgrade and get SSD storage.

Talking about ProBooks, there are multiple available with different specifications. Not necessarily all of them have the same of performance because you would find most of them slow or even the worst if you are using Windows 10S. But the one under review is quite different from others.

Hardware

As far as hardware is concerned, the 11-inch laptop from HP boasts a Celeron chip processor, which is obviously not advised to have with Windows 10. However, considering that it has a full SSD, it would help in the faster running of the operating system. The device only offers 4GB; however, if you feel like upgrading its component to 8 GB, we bet it would run even faster.

Design

I know you might have loads of complaints regarding HP laptops, so I have documented a few goods and bads, leaving for you to make a decision. Components or features that work absolutely fine are touchscreens, keypad, and ports. Also, it is undoubtedly an aesthetic piece to get your hands on.  It also offers a bright display with sharp and vibrant colours, featuring a gorilla glass screen.

Undoubtedly, HP has made the mark with this one. The 11-inch laptop comes at a price of 300 to 350 USD. It is also pretty convenient when it comes to upgradation part. However, the only lacking it does have is its backlit feature.

When it comes to 11 inch laptops by Lenovo, the same thing applies – a weak processor combined with the full version of Windows 10, having either an AMD or a Celeron processor. So make sure if you are purchasing with any of the above-mentioned processors, make sure to have with Windows S because, in an otherwise situation, you will have a hard time operating your laptop.

Hardware

If yours have SSD like the one we are discussing, you are better off with the full version of Windows besides the lack of power of CPU.

One thing to note is to always avoid purchasing laptops with weaker processors that too with a stronger version of Windows. Looking for a few models? Here are some worthy of purchasing only if you do not have any issues with Windows 10S: Lenovo 130S Premium 2019 and 130S 11IGM.

Both of them are okay despite the lack of SSD and weak processor again if you don’t mind Windows 10S.

Performance

Talking about performance, it is pretty much the same as the previous HP ProBook, but the only difference is due to SSD. And you will have the option of upgradation by inserting an 8 GB one to make it run like a cheetah.

One pretty cool thing about laptops by Lenovo is that it enables you to install Linux Distribution. This way the performance of your laptop will increase, too.

 Design

Starting with the cons first, the 11-inch laptop does not offer you a free MS Office Suite. Rather, you have to purchase it officially from the store. Also, it does not feature a backlit keyboard. Speakers are not high quality, and since they are on the bottom, the volume is quiet, putting an additional cost on you to purchase headphones. As for pros, the touchpad is good to go, has great WiFi connectivity with all ports, fortunately. Its battery life is also great.

Talking about 11-inch laptops and more specifically, the best 11-inch laptops, ASUS is definitely deserving to be on the list. ASUS E200HA has launched a few years ago; it is one of the most lightweight laptops with such a great price point – USD 200. Currently, it is one of the best options and fortunately, it has Windows 10S, so it is fast and a pretty great deal to have in just USD 260.

Hardware

Like most laptops, specifically 11-inch laptops, the processor it features is weak regardless of the number. Though it does not offer a full SSD, it does feature 4GB of RAM with Windows 10S, so functions will run pretty fast.

 Performance

Since it has Windows S, the laptop has its own limitations, like enabling users to perform basic tasks of streaming, typing, and programming from the app store; nothing more than these few options. Also, you won’t be having any option to enjoy any third part software, unfortunately. But wait, that is not a big deal, as whatever you will be needing is already there on the app store so chill.

Design

First thing first, the quality of the laptop’s build is great, with the impressive quality of touchpad and keyboard, which is not bad because it is available at only $250.

Last but not least, battery life is definitely good, as it offers 12 hrs, and when it is under intensive load, it should give you 5 to 6 hours, on average.

This is one of the many models you would find on the internet while browsing for 11-inch laptops. This laptop belongs to Acer Spin 1, featuring a touchscreen display.

Hardware

Once again, we have a laptop with the same issue we have been talking about – a weak processor combined with a full version of Windows 10. But if you are planning to buy one of these units, do ensure that it is only costing you USD 330 and features Windows S.

Performance

The laptop features Windows 10S operating system that makes things catch up faster though with only 4GB of RAM paired with a Celeron processor.

Design

Though speakers are not of high quality, this 11-inch laptop happens to be quite convenient when it comes to upgradation. Also, the featured keyboard and trackpad are also great as compared to other average 11 inch laptops out there. As far as battery life is concerned, it is also fine to go.

Chrome OS

I have had tried multiple ChromeBooks in my life; however, I always tend to sell them because they were not up to the mark. But being honest, among most of them, Samsung ChromeBook is the best because it is designed great.

Performance

There is a lot you can do with ChromeBook – 1080p 60fps, run several Android applications, and whatnot that too without slowing the system down.

Though there are a lot of things you could potentially do, one thing the Samsung 11 inch ChromeBook is not compatible with Linux.

Design

Speaking quite frankly, the 11-inch laptop does not have vivid and crisp colors and viewing angles are not good either. Also, the built also does not feature aluminum. But considering the fact that it is all made of plastic, the laptop is still strong enough.

The given speakers also do not give off the high volume, and it is something we can expect because ChromeBooks does have this issue. As far as battery life is concerned, it lasts for 10 hours.

Hardware

The one we are discussing right now is unlike any ChromeBook because it is more on a high-end side. Well, the hardware is not something that has convinced us to consider it as premium because it is something pretty average. The reason because we claimed it as high-end is that it is a convertible chromebook.

Performance

The performance of the 11-inch laptop is not something different than what we have already seen in most of ChromeBooks. The company offers 3 different versions for its customers, which are basically three variants with three different processors, but they are all quite the same in performance, so it is advised to get your hands on the cheapest one.

Design

Like the Samsung 11 inch laptop we discussed, it does not feature any premium components but is quite strong regardless of the fact that it is made entirely of plastic.

While there are some customers who claim its trackpad to be responsive, some claim it is not, but as far as our personal opinion is concerned, it is not responsive. But it is mostly to be used in a tablet mode, so it should not bother you from purchasing it.

This one by Microsoft is not among the 11-inch laptops; it has a 10-inch screen and it feels like a tablet, specifically because it features Windows 10S. Talking about the most powerful laptops on this list, this one is definitely in the second position because of its Pentium processor and on top of that, it has 8 GB RAM.

As far as the touchscreen is concerned, it has the best one. You have the option to use a stylus and outperform the artist in you. The only issue is its price, as it has a tag of USD 450, but I believe the laptop device is worth the price, specifically if you are someone who is studying and want a portable laptop for practical use.
